Pink Holo

Oh gosh, I just want to apologize first for the paint on my nails! I had just finished painting and I could have sworn it was all gone until I got a look at these pictures. Good news though, I can say first hand that paint comes right off of your polish, even dry, so these nails aren't like this because it wouldn't come off or anything.

This is a beautiful holo pink by Jade called Deja Vu.

I got it from llarowe, and I'm very happy I did. Shipping across the border is always a slow process and this got held up in customs for a while and was still pretty timely. Plus their selection is just magnificent. I want to buy all the nail polish, really I do.

I chose my photos for lack of paint, so again sorry for not having a bunch for you. But you can see the shimmer of the holo pretty well in them anyways. It was the only rainy day all week when I wore this so I'll have to use it again soon to really get the full impact, I'm glad it is still so pretty out of direct sunlight.

Magnetic Polish

I'm totally starting to understand why swatches are awesome. Whenever I get a new polish I just really want to show it to you all! Well, here I am doing that, this time with a magnetic polish.

Magnetic polish is incredibly neat, I just love the whole concept of it. So the fact that I've only gotten my hands on one this past week is practically criminal! Yes, criminal. Anyways, I also don't have enough green, so that was how I justified buying Sally Hansen Electric Emerald for myself.

I wasn't at all disappointed with my purchase, application was easy and the magnet worked really well and quickly. It was a little short though, especially on my thumb and ring fingers, which seem to be longer than my other nails. I don't really know what to do about that, so I just let the magnet be too short after failing at shifting it forward in any way a couple times.

The waves look like they are moving when you move your hand in my opinion, above and below are a couple pictures that almost get that across. If you haven't tried magnetic polish I highly recommend it, tons of fun.

Polish Days - Sentimental

So here it is, my submission for Polish Days. The category this month is Sentimental, and for that theme I've chosen to post a water marble design for you all.

Right hand

Left hand

Water marbling is what got me back into nail art after a long time of not doing it at all. You can see my first ever water marble at the end of this post, and it wasn't amazing but it really got me geared up to grow my nails and improve my designs as well as start this blog.

Right hand

To do this water marble I used a base coat of Revlon LilyChrome, which was interesting since I still have a patch on my right pinky and chrome polishes show every bump and imperfection. Because of that I worked hard to get a pattern on my pinky that would make the patch as unnoticeable as possible. How did I do?

Left hand

I used Wet n Wild Lady Luck and Wet n Wild 9.0.2.1.Orange for the colours and interspersed OPI Don't Touch My Tutu in order to really let the silver show through, since it is a very sheer white. Then I dotted 9.0.2.1.Orange in curving lines to compliment the water marble and add a bit more orange to the design (and to cover any bubbles or flaws in the water marble, but shhh). I used orange gems to do an accent nail on each hand as well.

Did you notice? On my right hand I ended up with two very different fingers, but I just had to keep them, I absolutely adore the way they turned out. Anyways, thanks for reading!
